Where are you from originally?

I am from Gakenke district.

What’s your favorite vegetable?

I like nightshade.

What do you like outside of work?

I like a place with music where others are dancing. I don’t like to dance, but I like to see others dancing!

How did you begin working at GHI?

I heard that GHI was recruiting farm workers. I come to ask for a job and they asked me if I had experience - and I told them I had worked on two other farms. Then they recruited me for the job.

What’s your favorite part of working at GHI?

Epiphanie participating in GHI's Umuganda day in October, 2017.

I really like agriculture, growing crops, harvesting and seeing that we collected lots of produce. It makes me feel happy when it rains and our crops become better.

What’s something your coworkers might not know about you?

Outside of work, even though I do not own a farm,  I like to cultivate beans and maniocs when I get an opportunity.

Anything to add?

What I can add is that GHI opened my eyes. I was like a blind person when it came to knowing about birth control. I joined GHI already having six children, but when I joined I was able to learn about birth control, and that opened my eyes. I've learned a lot at GHI, and it has helped me to achieve many things. Even with all those children I was only renting my house, but now I own my own house. My children don’t have any problem now. That is how GHI helped me in my life.
